WORKSHOP World-building

The world in which your story is set is the mortar that holds together the bricks of your fiction. 

For the unfamiliar setting of a historical novel, or an imagined land, or another planet, credible worldbuilding underpins the plausibility of the whole thing. In the historical, fantasy and SF genres especially, it is where readers want to escape to.

But even in a contemporary or true-life story, not every reader will be familiar with the setting of every scene.

This workshop will explore how we enrich our writing by conjuring authentic worlds. Plot spoiler – it’s not magic!
