VG Lee Introduces...

Hastings Book Festival has always put writers at the heart of our events. Local legend VG Lee will be hosting an evening of prose and poetry performance with six other local writers:

Adele Bates, Joan Taylor-Rowan, Morgan Smith, Omikemi, Steven Short, Tola Dabiri

VG says ‘'As writers, reading our work to a live audience is one thing - actively engaging that audience - is very different.

Support, encourage but most of all ENJOY an evening of spoken word where we'll do our best to engage with YOU!'

ABOUT VG LEE

VG Lee is the critically acclaimed author of five novels and two collections of short stories, the most recent of which, Oh You Pretty Things, was published in 2019. Sarah Waters said, "Lee writes with unfailing warmth and wisdom" while Andrea Levy praised her "light touch, wonderful laconic style and spot-on humour."  ​

In 2012, Lee was nominated for a Stonewall Award for writing and in 2014 she won the Ultimate Planet Award for Best Established Author.
