About The Event
Dr Angelina Osborne is a writer and researcher, who has specialised in enslavement, abolition and the historical prescence of Black Britons.
Angelina is a co-author of the acclaimed 100 Great Black Britons book, which celebrates the achievements and conributions of Black Britons through history.
This is a free event - however space is limited so booking a ticket is essential.
Angelina’s Bio
Angelina is an experienced historical researcher, lecturer, writer, and editor, having worked on a range of projects related to slavery, memory, citizenship, cultural heritage, and the history of the African and Caribbean presence in Britain. She has a wealth of experience on the public history of slavery and emancipation, having worked on these subjects with museums, libraries and archives, NGOs, and community organisations, and presented programmes on slavery and the Black presence in Britain on radio and television. She received her Ph.D. in History from the Wilberforce Institute for the Study of Slavery and Emancipation, University of Hull. Her book co-authored with Patrick Vernon entitled 100 Great Black Britons was published in September 2020.
