About The Event
Taking place on the first Saturday of this year's Book Festival, we are excited to be hosting the
popular and lively Hastings Bookfair.
The Bookfair will be an opportunity to meet many brilliant authors, artists, poets and publishers
from the local creative community and further afield.
Theyre an eclectic and fascinating bunch!
Stallholders include:
-Ian Dowding, creator of the world famous Banoffi Pie
-Ingela Karlsson, who will be coming all the way from Sweden to showcase her children’s fantasy
book Boreal
-Moth Light Press, who will be revealing the cover design and full list of poets (including festival
patrons Henry Normal and Salena Godden) to be included in POET TOWN: The Poets and Poetry of
Hastings and Thereabouts.
The Bookfair will open with a special performance on the stage at 11.00.
For children there will be a book-themed trail around the fair as well as a book corner.
The lovely Observer cafe and bar will be open all day for hot and cold drinks, snacks, cakes and
meals.
The Hastings Bookfair is free to enter - just turn up. There is no need to book, however, it would be
great if you could register your interest as it will enable us to keep you updated on the event.
