About The Event
Inspired by the creative hubbub surrounding the Poet Town project, the photographer, Maxine Silver, began her one-woman mission to photograph the poets of Hastings over the course of a year.
The resulting collection captures all of the joy, depth, silliness and rancour of the poets of this anthology, giving an indispensable visual counter-point to their written work.
The exhibition of these photographs will premier alongside the launch of the Poet Town anthology at the Hastings Book Festival 2025, and will be on display in the Observer Building throughout the festival.
Maxine writes of the exhibition:
"It has been a privilege to spend time with some of the poets in this book, in places that were significant to them in the town. Each poet photographed was asked to choose the location for their photoshoot and it was a joy for me to rediscover these places through their eyes.’
